Network Administrator

Job Responsibilities:

  • Mixed environment (Windows + Linux + Mac) intranet management:
    • Configure Active Directory Server + backup/secondary
    • Configure shared storage (with backup to secure cloud or remote location) to work with access control rules by group and by per-project
    • Manage and push policies, updates to managed systems
    • Tailor update/installs/policies to accommodate Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) guidelines
    • Transition resources to:
      • Google G Suite or Microsoft Office 365
      • Windows 10
      • Bulk licensing for common products
    • Implement/manage/monitor Virtual Private Networking (VPN)
      • Monitor/backup/update systems normally not in office (remote workers)
    • Audit/monitor security of firewall
    • Assess external and insider threats
  • Secure environment management:
    • Configure and deploy windows system in a classified environment
    • Implement multi-user standalone secured system guidelines (golden master) to push to all machines
    • Tailor update process for air-gap transfer to secured environment from corporate update server
    • Use/update Secure Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) tool according to threats as they appear

Basic Qualifications:

  • Significant prior experience as a Network Administrator:
    • Implementing, managing, monitoring, and debugging for Virtual Private Networking (VPN)
    • Configuring, auditing, monitoring and debugging firewalls
    • Using network reporting tools
    • Operating and updating Secure Technical Implementation Guide tool
    • Working in a classified environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Existing Department of Defense (DoD) secret clearance

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in software engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or mathematics
  • Experience with setting up, configuring, and debugging TCP/IP network implementation, with IP addresses and subnetting
  • Use of version control and configuration management
  • Network+ and/or Security+ certification
